Sofia Barattieri-Weinstein is an investor, creative consultant, and strategist with over 10 years’ experience working with young brands in the digital space. As a consultant, investor, and former start-up founder and CEO, Sofia holds a 360 degree perspective on the start-up experience and works to guide founders through the process of establishing the right brand, with the right team, on the right timeline.
After a career in finance in Funds of Funds, Sofia founded Motilo.com in 2008. Motilo was an innovative social-editorial hybrid that was called 'the first social shopping site' by The Financial Times and won the Guardian Award for Digital Innovation for Best New Website. While at Motilo, Sofia focused her efforts on showcasing and nurturing young creatives from designers and illustrators to photographers, stylists, and graphic artists.
Already patron of the arts and long-time supporter of cultural institutions such as the Serpentine, Sofia joined the BFC Fashion Trust in 2012 and currently sits on the BFC Fashion Trust’s Executive and Advisory Committees. She is also a co-founder of the Camera della Moda Fashion Trust in Milan.
Sofia acts as a mentor for the British Fashion Council’s Fashion Trust and New Gen supported designers working with emerging brands such as Marques’Almeida, Mother of Pearl, Teatum Jones, Eudon Choi, Faustine Steinmetz, and Phoebe English. She also serves on the strategic advisory boards for start-ups across Europe.
In 2015, Sofia founded Barattieri Collective which helps start-up founders build modern, effective businesses that put the customer experience first.
